A canoe bookcase is a real novelty item that looks great in a weekend cabin or even in a den of someone who enjoys water sports or the outdoors. The problem is, they can be sort of hard to find. Also, as I mentioned, these basket shelves are not very expensive and the convenience of not having to build them is pretty nice.

The other canoe bookshelves/ bookcases shown here are more traditional and authentic than the basket shelves, but they are also more expensive . They currently range from under one hundred dollars, well up into the hundreds. I personally like the two that cost the least better than the others, but that's just me. They are also available on Amazon. In case you were wondering, I typically refer people to Amazon because I've found that they are a good company to deal with. Let's face it, they are huge. This is a great design niche for people who like a rustic outdoor theme, and obviously would work great in a cabin or lodge. It would also work just fine however for people who just want to set aside one room of their home to dedicate to their love of the outdoors.
