How OSI Group Became One Of The World’s Leading Food Processing Company

OSI Group, LLC, based in Aurora, Illinois, is one of the world’s leading food processing companies.

The company, which is privately held, has operations in countries around the globe that supply restaurants with their food as well as producing private label products that are sold in grocery stores. It employees over 20,000 people and earned $6.1 billion in 2016.

Recently, OSI Group has been on a spending spree with the purchase of food processing companies in Europe. In August 2016, OSI Group bought the Dutch food processing company Baho Foods. This purchase expanded their reach in Europe as well as expanded their processing abilities with additional facilities. Baho Group’s products are sold in 18 European countries.

Another purchase that OSI Group completed in 2016 was of the UK’s Flagship Europe. Flagship Europe’s food processing products are sold throughout the United Kingdom and their products were very complimentary to what OSI Group provides. Flagship Europe had recently acquired another company, Calder Foods, which makes food items such as marinades, sauces, and dips.

In March 2017, OSI Group bought Hynek Schlachthof GmbH. This company was a family owned business that slaughters beef in Tauberbischosheim, Germany. The owner of the business, Michael Hynek, agreed to a taking a management role with OSI Group in order to maintain the existing relations he has with beef suppliers around Frankfurt, Germany.
