|In 2006 Eva Moskowitz founded Success Academy Charter Schools in the Harlem neighborhood of New York City. She is the company’s Chief Executive Officer and oversees the day to day operations of the charter schools that make up Success Academy. She has a long history in the field of education and once served on the New York City Council.
After graduating from high school, Eva Moscowitz attended the University of Pennsylvania where she earned her bachelor’s degree. She then attended John Hopkins University and graduated with a Ph.D. in American History. She grew up with a love of teaching and her first professional teaching job took place in 1989 when she joined the University of Virginia as their Visiting Professor of Communications and Mass Culture. She went on to become an Assistant Professor of History at first Vanderbilt University and then the City University of New York.
In 1996, Eva Moskowitz elevated her career when she landed the job of Chair of the Faculty Seminar in American Studies at Columbia University in the City of New York. In 1998 she left in order to join Prep for Prep as their Director of Public Affairs and as a civics teacher. It was in this position where she learned a lot about private school education and how it worked in a very different way than public schools do. In 1999, Eva Moskowitz ran for public office and won landing her a seat on the New York City Council. She served as a public servant for six years and was the council’s Education Committee Chair. In this position, Eva Moskowitz tried to improve public schools in the city and also supported various private options.

Also, Sam was in charge of all of their operations. What separates Sam from the rest, is his versatility. Before finances, Sam was an attorney. With that being said, he worked on behalf of Arps, Skadden, and several other companies. Evidently, he hails from an educational background. While in New York, he became a member of the State Bar.
