Foam Mattress Pads

The following was submitted by an acquaintance of mine.  You can probably tell that they like the foam mattress pad!  Personally, I have used one of the pads that sit on top of your older mattress, and it is pretty comfy.

I have a secret. I absolutely love infomercials. It's not that a love of infomercials is a badge of honor, just a fact, so when Tempurpedic came out with their Swedish sleep system, made of memory foam, I was hooked. The site of that woman jumping on her bed, without spilling the glass of red wine that was on it as well as the slowly fading impression of the hand print, had me drooling like Homer Simpson eating moon waffles. To make a long story short, a phone call later, and my home address was the new destination for one of their information kits. Afterward, I went to a store that specializes in memory foam beds and that's where the fantasy came crashing to a halt. These beds are expensive! No five-easy-monthly-payments of $13.33---this is real, long-term financing plus interest.

After recovering from sticker shock, the dream of sleeping in custom-contoured bliss faded from my mind. That was until a trip to Costco, when my wife and I discovered a <a href=”http://decorativehomepillows.com/memory-foam/memory-foam-mattress-pads-high-quality-sleep-on-the-cheap/”>memory foam mattress pad</a>. This mattress pad, was made out of the same visco-elastic material as the Tempurpedic brand, was queen-sized, and an inch and a half thick. From the information kit I had received, that was the same thickness as the super-expensive model. And the price was less than $100, so needless to say we snatched one up and I can honestly say that it is one of the best purchases I've ever made in my entire life. Now that's a pretty big claim for something so mundane but it's true. Sleep is so important to well-being and if you have trouble falling asleep, or the quality of your sleep is terrible, your life is pretty much going to be one of misery.

There is also an added bonus, to using a memory foam mattress pad, and that is if you use one, it doesn't really matter how good the mattress is that's under the mattress pad. Having used one, on Japanese futons which are rock hard, as well as on top of an <a href=”http://decorativehomepillows.com/bedding/air-mattresses-another-way-to-buid-a-cheap-guest-room/”>air mattress</a>, you can sleep very comfortably for a fraction of the cost of buying a high-priced mattress.


If money were no object, I have to admit that I still probably buy a Tempurpedic, but until then, the memory foam mattress topper is superb. They are super comfortable, provide great support for your body, and it won’t break the bank.That being said, I'm living in Japan now and seven years later, that same mattress pad from Costco is on top of my bed right now.
