It wasn't until a year ago that I realized why people bother to go to the effort of erecting a scaffold tower. I was thought that scaffolding required experience and took years to master in order to build a safe tower. However it wasn't until I was walking through the aisles of my local hardware store that I noticed relatively cheap scaffold towers.
The scaffold tower claimed to be easy to put together and safe to use at heights that I wouldn't dream of using a ladder at. Now, the two-story house that I live in has a rendered finish which is painted, the render is a very coarse finish which is almost impossible to paint by using a roller. Prior to purchasing the aluminium scaffold tower I'd used a step ladder and it would normally take hours as I would have to painstakingly paint the house by brush. One of the main reasons why it took so long was that I only had a limited area that I could paint before had to get down the ladder and move it along to get back up it again.
Now I have scaffold tower though I can literally assemble it in 20 minutes and because it has wheels on the base of it I can roll the tower along the house and keep all my equipment at the top of the tower. The best thing is that because the platform is almost 2 m wide that I don't need to move it very often so whereas I would need to move the ladder about 15 times to cover the width of the house I only really need to move this three or four times at most. The time saved by using tower is far greater than the time it takes to put the tower together so I really can see why these aluminium scaffold towers have become so popular.
The Aluminium Scaffold Tower Site is a useful resource for people looking to buy a tower especially those looking for second-hand tower.
