When looking to buy new lounge chair cushions to replace old, worn out ones, make sure you measure carefully to insure that whatever you buy is going to fit the chairs that you have.
You would be surprised at how many people omit this step in the buying process, only to regret it later when the cushions they have purchased don’t fit, and they have to go back to the store for an exchange.
One thing to be aware of when measuring for cushions: measure both the outer dimensions and the inner dimensions of your chairs. When measuring the inner dimensions, imagine where the edges of the cushions will sit and measure that. Though it's not likely the cushion will have the measurement of the chair you want it to fit, having both inner and outer measurements will take all the guesswork out of which cushion will fit.
Check also that any cushions you want to buy are under a warranty of some sort. A simple manufacturer-defect warranty can be valuable. Read all the information and hang tags on the cushion to find out if the manufacturer really backs up the claims they make in their advertising.
When you bring them home, hold off before taking off all the tags and getting rid of the packaging. Put them on the chairs to make sure everything fits well. This rule applies for bar stool seat covers as well. Check to see that whatever means of attachment the cushions have fit your chair and that they sit properly to prevent slipping. Try them out. Are they comfortable? Hold on to the receipt and all packaging materials until you know for sure you want to keep them.
Your lounge chair cushions ought not to be an afterthought! They are an integral part of the chair. After all, the cushion will most likely get the greatest amount of use. Take advantage of the opportunity to customize some of your furniture by giving it some careful thought. The payoff will getting a lot of great use out of your lounge chairs!
