There are many fantastic ways to decorate your child’s bedroom that are both fun and educational. One of the best ways to do this is by decorating with words.

A popular means of creating baby nursery décor with text is to simply put their name up on the wall in a gussied-up font. Write out your daughter’s name and have flower designs surrounding the type. Young girls also seem to be into one-word messages that they can say describe them – how often do you see a young girl or a young teen with a shirt that says “Cute”, “Brat”, “Princess”, “Spoiled” and so on? Why not apply the same principle to her room? Find decals of a girly, swirly crown and the word “Princess” and tattoo the wall above the headboard of her bed. Keep in mind all the other little things young girls  usually like…fairies, princesses, ponies, kitties, cupcakes, and just about anything that’s pink; it will help you when searching for an ideal wall decoration.

And for the boys, you also have to cater to those big fantasy dreams of theirs. Every little boy seems to fancy himself a train conductor, an astronaut, a mechanic, or a cowboy, so take those into consideration if you’re looking into vinyl decals for your son’s room. And remember all the other things little boys tend to like, such as bugs, cars, boats, Star Wars or sports when choosing something for Timmy’s wall. Of course, these are not always the rules, as you may have a child who is not interested in what are considered to be gender-appropriate hobbies. You may very well have a daughter who loves playing in the dirt and has Hot Wheels cars, or your son might absolutely love playing with a toy kitchen set. Don’t let gender roles dictate choice as far as jazzing up the little one’s room – just get what you know they’ll like.

Decals for walls are the perfect kind of decoration for children; when they grow tired of whatever the decoration shows, it can be removed and disposed of while you know only a tiny investment was lost for your son’s or daughter’s happiness.
