This may sound sexist but it is not intended to be. It is my experience that, when showing homes which are for sale to prospective buyers, one of the areas that is most interesting to men is the garage.
I have seen several homes sold based on a nice, functional garage. This is especially true if the man, or in some cases woman, is involved in car restoration or weekend racing and touring. Having a garage that is easy to work in makes a big difference.
One area that has traditionally been over looked is the floor. But that is no longer the case. By applying an epoxy based garage floor coating you can protect the floor, make it safer, and improve the looks of the area. All of these can be selling points.
Epoxies are great for protecting the floor surface from chipping if something hard is dropped on it. There is nothing worse than trying to move around on a floor creeper and having the small wheels drop into a hole. Once the epoxy cures, in about three days total time, it is almost indestructible.
Another plus is the anti-slip aspect that an epoxy based floor coating can provide. After spreading the mixture on the floor with a nap roller, you just need to spread out some gritty material. The floor kit usually comes with a non-skid application or you can buy it separately.
Lastly, it just makes the floor look great. You can now install a painted garage floor which can be matched to either your home's color scheme or to compliment the color of your favorite car. Autos always look better when they are sitting on a shiny, tinted floor instead of the boring, gray concrete.
If you want to increase the value of your home, applying an epoxy floor coating may be just what you need to do.
