Academic Contributions Mark Dr. Andrew Jacono as More Than a Clinician

Dr. Andrew Jacono operates in multiple spheres simultaneously. He sees private patients in Manhattan and Great Neck, trains the next generation of surgeons at two institutions, produces peer-reviewed research, and travels internationally to share findings at conferences. That range distinguishes him from surgeons who excel only in one area.

Teaching and Research as Core Practice

At Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Andrew Jacono holds the title of Associate Clinical Professor. At North Shore University Hospital, he serves as Section Head of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. In addition, he is Fellowship Director for the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, directly shaping the education of surgeons who will carry the specialty forward.

His publication record includes more than 70 peer-reviewed articles in leading journals such as JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Surgery Journal. He has presented at more than 100 international conferences, bringing his clinical experience and research findings to audiences across the globe. In 2021, he published a medical textbook dedicated to the extended deep-plane facelift, cementing the technique’s place in the surgical literature.

A Technique Worth Teaching

The method at the center of much of that scholarship is the Minimal Access Deep-Plane Extended (MADE) facelift, which Dr. Andrew Jacono developed in the early 2000s. The approach lifts the skin, muscle, and fat together rather than pulling the skin alone, producing results that Town & Country described as making patients look like refreshed versions of themselves. Results last 12 to 15 years.

Patients who have publicly acknowledged choosing Dr. Andrew Jacono include fashion designer Marc Jacobs, who cited the natural result after his 2021 procedure, and Dr. Paul Nassif, a surgeon who selected Jacono for his own deep-plane facelift.

The academic work Dr. Andrew Jacono produces is not separate from his humanitarian commitments. More than 750 cleft lip and palate surgeries performed through Healing the Children and over 100 reconstructive procedures for domestic violence survivors through FACE TO FACE reflect a career where what happens in the operating room and what appears in the literature point toward the same goal.
